Dr. Katrina Kuzma (Malcomson) ND, Naturopathic Doctor
My passion is educating my patients about their bodies so they can make empowered informed decisions. My goal is to help my patients
reach their health goals.
I uses a variety of assessment tools to help identify underlying imbalances. Some of these include physical exams, standard blood tests, food sensitivity testing, comprehensive stool testing, breath testing (SIBO), salivary, and urine hormone testing.
I will create a personalized treatment plan that uses a combination of nutritional and lifestyle counseling, herbal medicine, vitamin and mineral therapy, homeopathy and acupuncture.
Naturopathic Medicine
The art of practicing naturopathic medicine is to identify and treat the underlying imbalance, dysfunction or cause of disease in a way which is individualized. In doing so the Naturopath Doctor chooses therapies which will result in the best outcome for the patient. The least invasive and most beneficial therapies are chosen, keeping true to the principle of “do no harm”, with the overall goal of optimal patient health and happiness.
I use clinical nutrition to create a healthy diet and eating plans tailored to your needs and lifestyle.
Disease often stems from nutritional deficiencies. Your treatment plan will incorporate specific nutrients and supplements to address these deficiencies. Nutrition can be used to optimize digestion and support healthy body composition. It can help with fatigue, muscle tension, thyroid health, stress, inflammation and strengthen your immune system.
Dedicated to the study and celebration of nature’s healing powers, naturopathic medicine is a profession that acknowledges the interconnection and interdependence of everything living.
Naturopathic practices apply the least invasive and least toxic therapies to treat illness and promote wellness by viewing the body as an integrated whole.
Principles of Naturopathic Medicine
Dedicated to the study and celebration of nature’s healing powers, naturopathic medicine is a profession that acknowledges the interconnection and interdependence of everything living. Naturopathic practices apply the least invasive and least toxic therapies to treat illness and promote wellness by viewing the body as an integrated whole.
Naturopathic medicine is defined by principles and honours the body’s innate wisdom to heal. Naturopathic doctors are guided by six fundamental healing principles:
First, to do no harm, by using methods and medicines that minimize risks and avoid harmful side effects
To treat the causes of disease, by identifying and removing the underlying causes of illness, rather than suppressing symptoms
To teach the principles of healthy living, by sharing knowledge with patients and empowering them to take responsibility for their health
To heal the whole person through individualized treatment, by understanding the unique physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors that contribute to illness, and customizing treatment protocols to the patient
To emphasize prevention, by partnering with the patient to assess risk factors and recommend appropriate naturopathic interventions to maintain health and prevent illness
To support the healing power of the body, by recognizing and removing obstacles to the body’s inherent self-healing process
